Why can't I get into mygmail account

I got into my gmail account in the morning, but could not access it in the afternoon. They asked to sign in and kept giving me the "wrong password or email address. I sent an email to myself from my yahoo account to my gmail account and it came back saying no such account. I tried for over two hours to get in even trying to change my password. My name would come up, so they have my information, I also got 10 different silly words (code LETTERS CLOSE TOGETHER) and still could not get in. Will someone much smarter than an 81 year PLEASE HELP ME. Thanks a bunch..

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked (check the permissions on the about:permissions page).

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
