Font size suddenly decreased to 6 points; how to increase to at least 12 points?

Suddenly, and with no warning, all text in whatever site I go to on the internet, appears at 6 point. I have attempted a very temporary fix which someone told me about (control and plus sign). However, as I said, this is only temporary. I need every site to open at 12 point each and every time I log in and access an internet site. The next site I access, the same size font appears. This is getting very tiresome. 1) Why did this happen? 2) I need a permanent fix so the font is a readable 12 point font. Thank you.

The best solution possible would be to go to Tools (at the top) and then go down to Options. Go to the Content Tab. Change the settings under "Fonts and colors" to fit your needs.

As far as why it happened, the most common cause is by someone holding down Ctrl on the keyboard and scrolling out on the mouse.

Thanks so much for your reply. In Contents, Fonts and Colors, my font size is set to 16 points, so I am not clear why it's appearing as 6 points! Ah, those computer gremlins again! I am the only one who uses this computer, and I do not believe that I held down CTRL and scrolled out on the mouse. Actually, I don't even know what that means (I know what holding down CTRL means, but don't know what you mean by scrolling out the mouse).

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

You can rename the file content-prefs.sqlite to content-prefs.sqlite.old (or delete the file) in the Profile Folder to reset the page zoom on all sites.

You can use one of these extensions to adjust the default font size and page zoom on web pages:

The first part of your fix, as I understand it, is temporary and must be re-applied each time I access another site which, obviously, is a colossal waste of time! There has to be a permanent fix to this problem which does not involve an experienced tech to fix this and in language a definite non-techie person such as myself would understand! When you mentioned Profile Folder, Default FullZoom Level, and NoSquint, you lost me. It has to be simple, make sense, and easy to do. Can you try again, please! Thank you.
