Whenever I try to upload a file to a website I get an error message.
Every time I try to attach a document in a gmail message, upload a video to youtube, or post pictures to facebook I receive an error message saying that the upload failed due to a firewall or proxy but will upload in the basic uploader version of each. I don't use any proxies and can't find firewalls to turn them off to see if that would help.

Tools > Options >> Advanced, then the Network tab, Connections - Settings button
See if Use System Proxy Settings is selected? Try using No Proxy, instead.
I already tried that unfortunately and had no luck.
I, too, cannot upload files. I cannot attach files to gmail, either. IE works fine. I checked no proxy also.
