I had a similar problem. I was getting sound through windows 11 for all sources (media files, other browsers) but not firefox. I have no idea why it suddenly just stopped working last week. I went to System/Sound/Volume Mixer and clicked on the reset button at the bottom of the screen. My sound via firefox was restored.
