Often times when I click on something which in Chrome will simply open another window, Firefox does nothing? It is not adblock as I have it disabled for the sites in question.

I hate Google & Chrome, but it's the only way I can view some important information, such as my paystub information for work.

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?

Also make sure that you do not block pop-up windows, either in Firefox or via an extension or possibly security software.

You can possibly check these prefs on the about:config page to set how links are opened.

Normal Links:

  • browser.link.open_newwindow
    1:current tab;2:new window;3:new tab;

JavaScript Links:

  • browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction
    0:divert always;1:divert never;2:divert no features

Can you provide some examples?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Had the add-on ad blocker disabled for the sites in question but not the built in Firefox pop up blocker. Thanks for smacking some sense back into me!
