I have tried to 'grab' it with a held left click and drag, and a held right click and drag but neither of them work.

Are you trying to drag the Bookmarks icon from inside the Library icon? There is a separate Bookmarks button located in the Customization palette (3-bar menu --> Customize or right click an empty space in your Firefox bar and click Customize)
