I am running windows 7 32 bit. When I make a Firefox shortcut from any website it only shows a white box. The links themselves work. I no longer have an ICON show up such as a Yahoo symbol or Google symbol. Nothing.

Try to rebuild the icon cache in windows:

Is this about internet shortcuts on the desktop?

Did you recently change the default browser or got a message that Firefox wasn't the default browser?

Changing the default browser can reset all desktop shortcuts and you may have to set the icon of each of them manually via the Properties.
