On the left side appears a number that signals, that I got a new message. Before also the message itself was marked bold. Now not anymore and I never know, where to look. Any suggestions?

In addition the whole conversation appears together in one mail, like ot does in Gmail. I chose Thunderbird in order to avoid this chaos, and now Thunderbird has the same feature. What to do? Leave Thunderbird? Any alternatives?

Have a great day, Hodaya

Why not just turn it off in gmail if you do not like it?

The setting is on this page https://mail.google.com/mail/#settings/general

Sounds to me like you have the conversations add-on installed.

Tools menu (Alt+T) > add-ons and disable the conversations add-on.

Thanks Mark, but did not help. In my add-on section of tools no conversation add on exists. And it looks like I do not have any add ons.

Have a great week anyway!

Are you also getting mail on a phone or tablet device

Yes , but I download only gmail on my phone and there it is the same balagan - chaos. It's the gmail system to create these conversations and I try to avoid it, but now it also appears in Thunderbird. So it's probably that Thunderbird simply takes over the Gmail system. I hate updates. Each time it takes time to adjust for no advantage! Anyway, thanks for your help! I
