Thanks to both Matt and Airmail.

My problem is that I have Thunderbird set to automatically update my add-ons, which usually works. This time it didn't and I had to update manually.

Got it solved however.

There is a new version of the calendar with every update of Thunderbird.... have you tried restarting Thunderbird?
