I lost all of my Firefox data this afternoon. I may have just rebooted from a BSOD in Windows 7 (cant remember). When I started Firefox it opened the import bookmarks prompt and all 3 of my profiles were gone. I do have my 3 profile folders in appdata still but I don't know how I should go about restoring them. Any ideas on what happened, or advice?

I actually figured something out right after I posted this. Just created a new profile then copied the old folder contents to the new folder contents. I just didn't want to go back through all of my settings, add-ons, and bookmarks for each profile. I also had saved sessions.

Hello,

Firefox automatically creates a backup of your bookmarks, which can be useful if you lose or disappear. To recover follow these instructions.

  1. Use One of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library:
  2. * 'Firefox 29 and later:' Click the Bookmarks button Bookmarks-29 and select Show All Bookmarks.
  3. * 'Previous versions of Firefox:' Click Firefox button then Bookmarks. (If you can not see the Firefox button, click the Bookmarks button Bookmarks button win 2 or markers element top menu, select Show All Bookmarks.)
  4. At the top of the library window Scores, click Import and Backup' and select Reset.
  5. Click the date you want to restore the backup of your bookmarks.
  6. In the new window that appears, click OK.
  7. Markers selected date should have been restored.
