When Firefox ignores the "Open previous windows and tabs" setting, it is usually because your history settings are configured to wipe your browsing data when closing. We can get that fixed though!
When Firefox ignores the "Open previous windows and tabs" setting, it is usually because your history settings are configured to wipe your browsing data when closing, or your session file has become corrupted. Check for Conflicting Privacy Settings - Click the three horizontal lines menu in the top-right corner and select Settings. - Click Privacy & Security on the left menu panel. - Scroll down to the History section. - Look at the drop-down menu next to Firefox will: If it is set to Never remember history, Firefox is locked into permanent Private Browsing mode, which cannot save tabs. Change it to Remember history. If it is set to Use custom settings for history, check the box labeled Clear history when Firefox closes. If it is checked, click the Settings... button next to it.
Crucial!! Ensure that Browsing & Download History and Form & Search History are unchecked inside that sub-menu. If they are checked, Firefox deletes your tabs upon exiting. Click OK.
Hope that helps!
