i can't use the microphone in the AI chatbox. i have been to several sett tings in different places and none have the option to allow it'. I clicked on every gear icon and setting link (and AI chat link) i could find in the firefox browser

We are currently investigating an issue where browsers are sending HTTP requests with Connection: close in the header during integrated Windows authentication (NTLM authentication) via SAML Service Provider (SP), leading to premature termination of the TCP connection.

This behavior occurs in the middle of the authentication process, preventing the NTLM authentication from completing and subsequently prompting for re-authentication.

We have observed the following browser behaviors:

Chrome and Edge: These browsers function without issues, communicating with Connection: keep-alive. Safari (macOS): Older versions of macOS with Safari exhibit the Connection: close behavior, leading to authentication failure. Newer versions of macOS with Safari work correctly with Connection: keep-alive. Firefox (macOS): Even on the latest versions of macOS, Firefox continues to attach Connection: close, resulting in authentication failure. Upon reviewing logs, we've identified that various browsers attach the Connection: close header during the NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE request in the NTLM authentication sequence. Although this happens in an environment with a load balancer, we have confirmed that the load balancer is not modifying the header; rather, the client (browser) is adding it.

We would appreciate your insights into the conditions under which Firefox attaches Connection: close to HTTP requests, especially considering the differences across macOS versions and other browsers, addressing the following points:

Are there any known conditions or past cases where Firefox outputs Connection: close in an NTLM authentication environment via SAML SP? Given that older Safari versions show similar behavior, we are also considering if there's a common factor depending on NTLM authentication and browser version. What are the general heuristics, logic, or triggers for a browser to decide to "close" a connection or to attach Connection: close? We are particularly interested in cases that occur mid-authentication process. Could specific configurations (e.g., the combination of SAML and NTLM authentication, or the presence of an intermediate proxy/load balancer) potentially influence Firefox's Connection: close behavior? Are there any additional logs or debugging information we should collect from the Firefox client side to further pinpoint this issue? Any guidance or suggestions you could provide to help us resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

A user I am servicing uses Firefox every day. They are on Windows 11. Every afternoon (sometimes at other times), Firefox stops working and loses its internet connection (everything else on their computer continues to be connected).  When they close and restart Firefox to reconnect, it then tells me the user that they are using an old profile and need to create a new one.  They're able to re-log into their Firefox account, which eventually resyncs all their data, but they then have to re-sign into everything, which is a major inconvenience.  The only workaround the I have found is to reinstall Firefox, ever time this happens which then allows the user to use all their settings until they have to repeat the process the next day (i.e., everything remains signed in and/or logging back in is easier than described above).

Thank you for the help! I'm wondering if other AI chatbots, Lumo, in particular, will continue to be added as options to the updated sidebar? An unofficial extension exists (https://codeberg.org/daskashk/lumo_ai_by_proton_chat_in_sidebar) that adds the ability for a link to appear in the sidebar. However, it does not offer the full integration that the official browser update provides to the other supported LLMs. I like Lumo for its privacy, encryption, and the ability to make "Projects." My bookmarks have stopped working. When I went to Edit Bookmark I found they are all empty. I can create a new bookmark as usual, but I have over 300 bookmarks that no long function that are very important to my work. Is there any way I can possibly restore them, as my work depends on them?

when I clicked on firefox icon today, bing browser appeared and I was not able to use firefox until I downloaded firefox again. I would like to restore the firefox I was using, I had several windows open and my passwords stored there. please advise

I am currently trying to set up automatic backups to a local network folder. I have set browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML and browser.bookmarks.file via the about:config page. This creates the backup on X:\bookmarks.html as desired, but only this one backup. Is there another way to create the backups with a timestamp and to keep to the maximum number via browser.bookmarks.max_backups?

I have checked that javascript is enabled and I do not have Ghostery or NoScript plugins. Interesting, the "support article" was hyperlinked and I could not access that either. (https://ds.tl/help-third-party-plugins, and the message is"server not found") I have rung Qsuper who advise me that there website is fine. Please advise any strategies. Many thanks in anticipation.

For the past 15-16 days, Firefox has been consuming extremely high memory.

The problem: - When Firefox first opens, it starts normally at around 300-400 MB - But after using it for about 1 hour, a single Firefox window grows to 1-2 GB of RAM - This keeps increasing the longer I use it (memory leak behavior) - Currently Firefox (41 processes) is using over 5,131 MB total memory on my system it's normal but after 1 hour a single firefox window grows to 1-2 GB of RAM

What I have tried: - The issue happens consistently every day for the past 15-16 days - Other browsers like Chrome and Chromium use much less memory in comparison

System info: - OS: Windows 11 - Firefox version: latest version 148.0.0.0

Tell me a working method of getting firefox to change my password so as to stop me having to sign in every time I need to use it. Worked before but doesn't work now.

I started using a new laptop and when I receive emails through Outlook, the excel attachments won't open and I get a message saying that I don't have the pdf software. These are Excell files, not PDF. I've tried all the suggestions on-line but they still won't download as Excel files, only Firefox files.

I am seeing pop up ads like these on the lower right corner of my screen since I updated to windows 11. I've never seen this with windows 10. Microsoft is telling me these are coming through my browser. These are not when I am in a web site and get the pop up to allow notifications, I always say no. These come @ 1 per week or less and I don't seem to be able to stop them. Is there a setting in firefox that will stop them or is this a microsoft issue? thanks brian

Since I upgraded to you, I am having trouble accessing important and medical info. I would like you to put every thing the way it was before. Easy access. You erraced some of my passwords, I want them back. I spend hours trying to find my info. I am 80 yrs old and do not need this aggravation. Thank you Moira
