I want to have Thunderbird on my new computer also, bot was hacked with a (RAT) & am now unsure of my passwords.
Back in April I was hacked, on my 2012 Acer Desktop (WIndows 10) ,with a (RAT) remote access trojan, and the hacker screwed up my computer & changed my passwords. (Messed up my life bigtime--Creditcards, bank account, etc. I had Thunderbird and don't want to lose my e-mails. I finally got another laptop computer(Windows 11) & want to use Thunderbird there also. with same e-mail & password Just today I finally was able to get a new password for my ISP- windstream.net. How do I go about getting my password changed as I am unsure of what the hacker did. I really don't want to start over from scratch. My e-mail address is labman1@windstream.net. I don't really want to start a whole new account or entity. What do I do to go about changing the password? HELP !!!!

Are you done for good with the old computer? Do you still have access to it and its contents? If so, you can install Thunderbird on the new computer, copy your Thunderbird Profile to from the old to the new (through your home network or via a storage device like a thumb drive,) and it should work as it always did. You can delete your saved Windstream email passwords from Thunderbird, and it will prompt you for the new one next time it tries to fetch or send email.
If this is the situation, let me know and I can give you more detailed advice.
