My registry key value for the deafault browser app is FirefoxURL-308046B0AF4A39CB and it should be just FirefoxURL. it is just FirefoxURL on all of my other devices it is just my PC. i have tried to reinstall firefox, i have reset my PC and still the progid is FirefoxURL-308046B0AF4A39CB. i need it to be just FirefoxURL as i use a program that finds the default browser app by looking at that value.

any help would be appreciated

Did you download Firefox from the Mozilla server?

Note that on Windows 10 you should set another browser as the default browser before uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.

no. i gust got if from https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/ i have went into regedit myself and change all of the FirefoxURL-308046B0AF4A39CB keys to just FirefoxURL... seems to be working for now

UPDATE

i had to reset my laptop and i proceded to install firefox on it and that has a progid of FirefoxURL-308046B0AF4A39CB. seems to be a problem with 59.0.2 install file

Can the progid be fixed please

hi

i had to reinstall Firefox and this problem has resurfaced Progid still has a number sequence after FirefoxURL. because i NEED the Progid to be JUST FirefoxURL make Firefox unusable

site i downloaded the Firefox Installer from is: https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/

EDIT. Same happens for https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and the english x64 setup download from https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/all/?q=eng
