None of the fixes for "Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can" work for me, any options?

Using version 48.0.2. Some websites won't load: get "Unable to Connect" message. Fixes here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can#w_ipv6 don't resolve the issue.

Sites that won't load on Firefox load readily on both IE11 and Chrome v 53.0.2785.

Using Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

Tried that on my Windows 7 machine, but the re-install of 48.0.2 still cannot load some websites while other sites load fine. The sites that will not load are easily accessed using either IE11 or the latest version of Chrome.

I hate to abandon Firefox which has long been my default browser, but this is unacceptable.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'm using Firefox 48.0.2 on another computer that has the same Norton Internet Security software and am not having any problems there. The OS on that machine is Vista.
