All too often I can't SEND or SAVE and get the message "We encountered a technical issue. Please try again." This can go on for 10, 15, 20 minutes. Sometimes it then allows me to work normally but sometimes out of frustration I have to reboot and of course it won't let me save any of my work and I have to close all windows with which I might have been working. When I reboot, very slow to allow me to access any of my work, message says "the proxy server is not responding." After a period of time, about 3 to 6 minutes, it then starts operating normally and usually fast. This can last a varying amount of time, hours, a day, and then the "encountered technical issue" recurs.

Thank you

Bill Martin

Hi Bill, Thank you for your question, I understand that when you are working in Firefox that the operations Send and Save begin not to work after a period of time and you receive an error, "The proxy server is not responding". I am happy to help.

It sounds like the website or network you are accessing is controlled by a proxy. This can happen if the network uses a proxy server and it has a timeout set for all of the connects made to it. For example if a proxy was a bus, there are only so many people it can hold to the duration of the trip. (eventually someone will get off at one of the stops)

Talk to the admin of the network if this is not supposed to happen.

If you need to troubleshoot the proxy/connection, all of the network configurations in Firefox are located in this menu:
