Cannot attach any files to my email in gmail using firefox (latest and older versions), also unable to load chat. had no problem till this morning. Everything works fine in IE and Chrome.
No error message comes up while attaching files; tries to contact gmail for a few seconds and then it just doesn't attach the file. Chat error message says unable to contact gmail. it started in the morning with gmail taking longer than usual to add the attachments and after two files it just stopped. attcahment are within the allowable limit

Have you tried clearing cache and cookies yet?
I have tried that multiple times. also restarted the browser, upgraded to the latest version. nothing has worked so far.
