Why, when I only have a blank tab open in Firefox, does it have 11 processes open?

The summary says it all. I feel that Firefox uses to many system resources!

Hi

Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox?

If you type about:processes it will show you. There would be some networking ones, some graphics and media ones, some for addons etc. — so that if one thing is compromised or crashes, the other things are isolated.

Another processes are also e.g. about:serviceworkers that your websites install to speed up etc.

See wiki.mozilla.org/Electrolysis for the longer read.
