Resolved. I got in after trying all my old passwords. it was of course the last one that I can think of.

Do you really need to clear the Primary Password? It will wipe out all your passwords.

Or you mean the Sync Password?

Yes, sorry. I meant the Firefox Sync Primary password. it's on my old Windows 10 PC.
