Every time a verification code is asked by an organization with which I have an account, the code, takes an eternity to show up in my inbox. Some sites do not give you much time to enter that code before ending the session. Why so long?

I suggest checking this response time by using your online account. I also find such code sometimes take a long time. You would need to ask the sites providing the codes about the delays.
