why do I get bad gate way at certain sites , I go to different search sites and able to get in ?

Do you notice any differences in the working versus non-working URLs?
If not:
One thing that normally happens when you click a link is that Firefox will pass along certain referring site information, such as the host name. There are exceptions related to insecure sites and private windows, but assuming those are not in play, then perhaps the site prefers visitors from search engines?
