Hi,

I have read through some of the past similar issues with passwords not syncing across devices and the only official answer I seem to find from the Firefox team is to "manually or force sync"...

However that does not work. I have just saved a new login on my mobile, I have manually synced or "sync now" on both my mobile and desktop, restarted both devices and still...this login does NOT appear on my Desktop.

So please help! For all I know there could be other logins saved on my mobile that don't appear on my desktop and vice versa.

I do not want to uninstall Firefox.

Kind Regards, Alex van der Merwe

You can open about:sync-log via the location bar to see if recent Sync error logs are available. You can upload the file to a website like Pastesite if you can't post the content of the file in a reply.

I just set up a new android phone. Installed firefox and synced with my desktop PC account. All my passwords correctly appeared in the mobile browser. Then I had to change one password. I synced my phone but the changed password is not updated in the mobile browser settings. Disconnected and reconnected mobile firefox using new QR code from desktop. Synced. The old password still appears on the phone. No error log in about:sync-log on desktop. That url does not work on the mobile version.

Cleared phone app firefox cache. Synced phone again. Still shows old password in the phone. PC desktop browser shows new one.

Basically it works the first time and syncs all the passwords correctly. But every subsequent sync does not update saved passwords.

Did you ever imported a logins CSV file as that can affect syncing logins ?

I have exported a logins csv. I definitely have not imported one on the PC I'm currently working with. I might have imported a csv at some point in the past using my sync account. How can importing a csv affect syncing? Is this a problem at the local computer or does it affect my account in general on any machine?

So when I initially moved over to Firefox I imported a few passwords from another browser, but since then I have created many logins through Firefox and even those do not sync across my devices sadly.

If they know it is a bug and I can see it’s not a new problem, I don’t see why it hasn’t been resolved.

So that is it then? No further help on this issue...Firefox alternatives.

This has been fixed in 116, so you still have to be patient. Note that this affects importing logins via the migration wizard as well as importing CSV.
