when i hit the back button or the forward button it just stays on the current page. the only way to go to the last page is to go to my home page, then to the page that i wanted to go to using the back/forward buttons. is there a fix?

Sometimes the back/forward buttons have multiple entries for the same webpage. Try using the right-click.

Note that you can also hold the left mouse button on either back or forward button to open the tab history list.
