I can't find out how to access my bookmarks (which I have synced from my laptop). Not much use having a load of bookmarks if you can't get at them.

Hi, golfinggrannie,

Make sure the account you use for firefox, both in mobile as well as desktop are the same. Because, maybe there's a chance that you synced your bookmarks in one, and trying to access the same in another.

Well, if this is not the issue, Login to your firefox account from desktop, sync your bookmarks, then open Firefox in your mobile, go to settings , and then click on "Sync Now " . After the Sync completes, you should be able to see your bookmarks.
