This issue can be caused by the Babylon Toolbar extension
Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

You are spot -on correct. Although I requested NOT to have the Babylon toolbar it downloaded it anyway. Now I can't find how to get rid of it. I'm sure this will solve my problem. Many thanks for your help so far.
