I lost the ability to show my email acct using the recent folder layout
After reinstalling Thunderbird I can find the setting to set up the recent folder setup

It is not clear what you mean by the "recent folder setup". Please show a screen shot of your actual folder setup, whatever this might be. And indicate what you don't like or what you want to change.

You may want to become familiar with the options under the "View" menu for "Layout" and "Folders".
I can not find the View menu. Where is it located
Click on the ≡ in the upper right.
Or, if you are using Windows, press the <alt> key.
