Weather.com will not load

Since the last few days weather.com will not work with my version of Firefox. I use 115.37.0esr version of Firefox. Since the last few days Weather.com seems like it is loading and displays the page correctly for half a second but as soon as the page appears, it disappears leaving a small message midscreen that says " This page couldn’t load - Reload to try again, or go back."

I tried turning off my adblocker but that made no difference. Anyone got any ideas? I really like weather.com. It's one of those nice websites that are like when the web was new and was just a useful thing for everyone.

Would you try opening that in Private Window to see any difference, or hard refreshing a several times with CTRL+F5 … ?

I tried loading that site in a couple of old versions and it eventually opened fully without error, however I had issues with their blocking bloated code to even get past accepting terms and allowing/disallowing location — it would be getting unresponsive, stuck, not registering any clicks etc. — but that was no matter the browser version, it was the same on 128esr and 140esr as well. So the site is being a little bit difficult right now, but that's apparently for everyone and anyone, and not specific to 115esr — you just might need to do the typical troubleshooting steps, go to the shield icon next to the address when you're on that broken page and "Clear cookies and site data" and similar, to try to get a clean slate for that website.

I tried hard refreshing it about ten times over and the same things happens every time - the page first loads normally and then half a second later it goes blank except for a small message mid-screen that says " This page couldn’t load - Reload to try again, or go back."

I tried using a "private window" and the same thing happens as above.

I cleared cookies and site data and the same thing happens. Maybe it is because I am still using Windows 7. Anyway, it works on Chrome so I will just have to switch over. Too bad. I greatly prefer Firefox.

I'd give them a couple of days to figure out if they're having (or are aware of) any broader issues with either security or connectivity and will ship an update, as the site was a pain to load even on a current release system when I tried, so it must be affecting more people I guess.

Oh, and right — they use this bot protection that always returns errors, and you're quite right it might be just because they don't deem Windows 7 as secure enough: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1582867#answer-1819937 — there are some tips in the linked thread how to conceal the system version that might do the trick for this site.
