"error creating account"
I am trying to set up the latest version on Thunderbird on my wife's old Gateway (WIN 7 home premium). The previous version of TB has problems so I deleted it and am starting over. I have manually configured this TB with the server info from the TB accounts on our other computers, but get the error as stated above. What do I need to check?

Please post a screenshot of the screen at the time of the error. That may offer ideas. Thank you.

FIRST, changer her PASSWORD. do it NOW!!!!!!!
You entered her email as .marsha@cvinternet.net Notice the 'dot' preceding her name. correct that and it will work. I tried myself with no problem. If you encounter further problems, let me know, but this does work.
David: I re-entered the TB set up info and didn't get the error message, so that worked. However, when I select "Get Messages," nothing happens. Also, the "write" box cannot be selected. What next? Peter
