The window to enter new account password is not displayed

OS: Winfows 7 Thunderbird: 68.12.1

When the password of my google email account has changed, Thunderbird usually shows a window to enter the new password on startup. In recent versions of Thunderbird, this window is not displayed at all, but is present in the window list of the application (taskbar of Windows 7).

After deactivating all themes and extensions, the only way to get the window appear is to move it with keyboard:

  • Alt+Space, choose move
  • use arrow keys, to move it near screen center and press Enter

The window may still be invisible, and the procedure may work only after multiple tries.

The window should appears correctly with valid position and size.

Run TB in safe mode (hold Shift when launching) and see if the window appears correctly. If it does, close TB, launch again in safe mode, check 'Reset toolbars & controls', click 'Make changes and restart'.
