freezing when opening new window
Every time I open something in a new window (not a new tab but a new window) my firefox stops responding and i have to close the program.

Have you tried running Firefox in safe mode?
- Firefox -> Help -> Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

I hate to say so soon but safe mode seems to be ok for opening new windows. How can i tell which add-on is causing things to freeze?
If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
- Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe Mode start window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
I have the same issues. Experimentally I've come to the conclusion that its most likely Smartest Bookmarks Bars fault. Judging by the latest reviews on the site confirms this.
