Install, update, and run these programs in this order. (Not all programs detect the same Malware.) They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.
Note: If your Malware infection is bad enough and you are mis-directed to URL's other than what is posted, you may have to use a different PC to download these programs and use a USB stick to transfer them to the afflicted PC.

tried all of that software, plus Avira, problem's still there, now I get notifications that say 'Hydnro has stopped working', usually about six at a time. When I tried the websites, I was immediately baffled by what they were asking as, as previously stated, I have little idea about the inner workings of this pc. *fingers lump hammer nervously

Hydnro and the ‘Hydnro has stopped working’ problem is a symptom of a win32/ramnit virus. Ramnit viruses hijack your browser and take you off to a site of their choice. To fix the ‘Hydnro has stopped working’ problem and the virus, download and run the latest Microsoft Security Essentials.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a virus and adware killer that is better than Defender and it will fix this problem.
