How to fix acrobat to open my picture pdf files?

Mozy17

I did not remember having an adobe account. I always used reader.

I have several picture files which will not open. They cover several years. Probably several hundred pictures. They come up as PDF files and do not open when clicked on.

You don't need an Adobe account just to open PDF files in Reader. Let's first check whether the problem is with Firefox or the files themselves. 1. Save one of the PDFs to your computer, then right-click it and choose Open with > Adobe Acrobat Reader. 2. If it opens, go to Firefox Settings > General > Files and Applications, find PDF, and choose Adobe Acrobat Reader as the action. 3. If it still won't open, try another PDF to see whether the issue affects all files or just those pictures. You can find more details in Mozilla's PDF viewer guide.

When you try opening a file, do you get an error message, or does nothing happen?

Picture files like JPEG images? Possibly the file association -- the connection between a file type and the program you want to open it -- got messed up, because JPEG images normally open in a program like Photos or Paint. You could try this:

  • Open a Windows Explorer window (for example Windows key + E)
  • Right-click a picture, click Open With, click Choose another app
  • Windows should display a number of relevant applications
  • Click the one you prefer to use and then click "Always" to update the association

Success?
