v 149 no longer allows browser links to be dragged to an email or doc
I see many complaints about this new version v 149 for the Mac. The most outrageous one is that you can no longer drag links from a browser page (try BBC) to an email or a doc. You have to copy the link then it won't turn blue and only when received will it show up as a link. Like many others after 30 years use preferred over Safari and others I am seriously losing patience with Firefox. On the very day you announce split screen for Ff windows - you disable a vital feature that has worked for years causing me to waste so far 60 minutes of my hard pressed work time. Maybe this will be corrected in the next upgrade. But I am now intending to avoid all Firefox upgrades for 6 months after being offered. I doubt anyone on this forum will come back on this but my set-up is Mac OS Monterey - and Firefox v 148 worked perfectly before today. I hesitate to try and install the previous version because I am not used to doing such tech moves. Perhaps someone in the Mozilla head office congratulating themselves on the marvellous new upgrade will come across this but I doubt it

Thank you both jbr and Paul for your very quick replies. While I remain on Mac OS Monterey till next year when I purchase an M4 Mac with latest mac OS it does seem to make sense. Safari from my perspective has many drawbacks and Chrome I am not familiar. For bookmarks nothing can rival Firefox and I have a huge amount. If jbr would be kind enough to let me know when 153 ESR is coming out I shall wait - but if it is not till the Autumn I will go for the current ESR version presumably up-datable in due course Thank you. "Firefox 153 ships on July 21 (in 9 days)" https://whattrainisitnow.com/release/?version=esr
Once it's available, there will be a third download option on firefox.com/download/all/desktop-esr/osx after selecting the locale, that will allow using your current profile.
JBR = brilliant thank you - and it's my son's birthday and 57 years to the day since man landed on the Moon. Anton
