Access Denied on Website - https://www.kohls.com
Starting about three weeks ago I began receiving the following message when trying to access the above website: Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://www.kohls.com/" on this server.
Reference #18.cc1c2117.1772495056.333a13f3

Note that the site listed in the error message does not contain the S in https. I manually typed the address with the S and received the same message. I found your correspondence with aprilbrown77 on 8/15/23 and tried all the solutions suggested with no success. I believe Kohls change something on their website 3 weeks ago. My operating system is Windows 7 - 32bit and my Firefox version is 115.33.0esr. I have contacted others using Windows 7 and they all have the same problem. Please update Firefox to resolve the Kohls website issue for the millions of us using Windows 7. Thanks.

Hi,
I'm getting the same error on release (v148.0.2) and Nightly (v150). However, it goes away after refreshing the page (using the Refresh current page button). Doesn't the same work for you?
I hit the refresh button several times but I still receive the Access Denied message. Again, my Firefox version is 115.

PS I've filed a bug for the issue I see: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2022393
There are too many sites with the same issue on Win7. I think that the issue is that the browser is old, I get the same error even with the current 115.33.0esr --> https://www.firefox.com/download/all/desktop-esr/
Looking at the bug, the version is wrong unless you're getting it on the current version.

The latest version that runs on Windows 7 is 115. Version 148 require Windows 10. Millions of us still use Windows 7 as our current computer meets our needs. What we do need is an update to version 115 to solve the access denied error.
I also have a laptop that runs win7 and the current version is 115.33.0esr --> https://www.firefox.com/download/all/desktop-esr/ and it will not resolve this issue. There several win7 users getting the same error on other sites as well. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/firefox?tagged=windows-7&show=responded
Hi jonzn4SUSE
I am having the same problem with several websites, access denied error. Kohl's, Home depot, Ralph's and Costco so far.
According to Mozilla's community Moderator cor-el, the problem is that Firefox Oesr version is stuck on version 115.33 on Windows 7 computers. I have no problem using these websites on Chrome which I don't like and prefer not to use. Everything works OK on my laptop with Windows 11, Firefox version 148.02. I thought the whole point of using Firefox Oesr was to allow Windows 7 computers to continue using Firefox.
Is this problem going to be solved soon????? Are we going to get an update to Firefox 148.02 for Windows 7 computers?????
I would greatly appreciate your help!!!!!!!
Amy
Firefox 116.0 and later requires Windows 10, 11 to run. The Firefox 140 ESR is based on the 140.0 Release but with security/stability fixes.
Mozilla is keeping the old Firefox 115 ESR updated to help the Windows 7, 8, 8, 8.1 and macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.4 OS users have a secure browser for the time being. The last planned update will be Fx115.39.0esr in August unless Mozilla decides to extend updates yet again.
Thank you for your responses and help.
It really sucks because some of us with old computers cannot afford to buy an new one. My old computer cannot take Windows 10 or 11

You don't have to buy new, just newer than what you have. Do just a little searching and you'll be surprised.
I’m really disappointed that Firefox is not continuing to support Windows 7. We’ve already been impacted by Microsoft and the hardware manufactures getting together to force more new computer sales by issuing Windows 11 with higher hardware requirements then Windows 7 and 10. This obsoleted hundreds of millions of computers. There are still millions of Windows 7 computers in use. We need Internet access keep them viable for those of us who do not need Windows 10 or 11 additional features and cannot afford a new computer. By discontinuing Windows 7 support you are obsoleting these computers. Please reconsider discontinuing Windows 7 support.
Hi
Just to clarify, Microsoft removed support for Windows 7 close to six year ago. Firefox will not be the only package that you would struggle to run on it now.
Also, to clarify, Windows 7 will be supported at least till August, so the support isn't discontinued.

Chrome/Chromium based browsers dropped the EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1 back in January 2023.
As I stated in my earlier reply Mozilla plans to update Firefox 115 ESR till 115.39.0esr in August 2026 so Mozilla is still supporting Windows 7. Before the August date they will decide if they will extend updates yet again or not. This has been Mozilla's longest support of a EOL OS's (this time with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14) compared to the past with older EOL macOS (10.9, 19.10, 10.11) and WinXP/Vista (Fx 52 ESR) support periods.
Originally Mozilla was going to end the Firefox 115 ESR channel as of Firefox 115.15.0esr in September 2024. Then they decided to extend updates with multiple extensions since.
The computers running Windows 7 are not obsolete when you do have the option of installing a current Linux distro with a lighter desktop like Xfce, Mate etc. Though if the system is rather ancient in using a 32-bit CPU then you are more limited as Linux distros mostly support 64-bit CPU's now. In fact after Microsoft dropped main support of Windows 10 and people could not or did not want to use Windows 11, many ended up using Linux instead either replacing the OS or in a dual boot.
