How do I prevent any and all inline animations from autoplay? When I right-click the offending image there are options for "Play" and "Loop". I can stop the animation by unchecking "Loop" but I do not want it to play ever. I only want to see static images on a web page unless I initiate the animation.

Sorry. Loop stops when I check "Pause".

There's no way to stop this annoying crap?

Are these videos, or old school animated GIFs? With videos, you can try the autoplay block to prevent them from starting. See: Allow or block media autoplay in Firefox. Does that have any effect?

The Allow or block media autoplay feature only sorta kinda works in some places. For example on Weather.com the spastic eyecatch "Editors Picks" clips still loop and dance about and it requires specific filters in Adblock Plus to stop that crap--the image is then blanked out instead of static. So too on BankofAmerica.com, even if you have your universal setting for "Block Audio" show in the address bar the BankofAmerica webpage will stalk you silently for a few minutes and then startle you suddenly with a loud marimba roll noise--just to draw your attention to their chat feature--and there is no way to actually stop noises on webpages like this.
