Firefox forgets logins and crashes a lot on iOS & iPadOS 16 and 16.1
- Whenever you login a site, Firefox does not remember the cookies from the login. So when you close the app and open it later, so you need to login again.
- Firefox crashes a lot since iOS 16 and now too on 16.1, and now also since the release iPadOS 16.1. This makes the app difficult to use and really bad.
Both are very frustrating and important issue, please fix it!

A user of our website, https://tweakers.net, pointed me to this support question. Recently we are getting increasingly more reports from users who are having difficulty signing in or keeping signed in on our website. The common denominator seems to be Firefox on iOS version 16.
At the moment we are a bit clueless on the cause for this, so we also don't know if there are things we can do to remedy or workaround this situation for Firefox users on iOS.
At the very least hereby please be informed that this issue (also) occurs on our website - https://tweakers.net - and that we are more than willing to help with any information you might need to investigate this issue.
Same problem here. Multiple sites (including Tweakers.net) lose their sessions and login. This happens on every update on iOS 16+ and Firefox 106+ for iOS.
Same for other websites. When I am switching back and forward for different apps it happens more often it seems like.
Yes, I have the same issue.
Can we get an update @eric8bits? It's been a long while and it's still a very annoying bug. Please prioritize accordingly. Thanks.

Hi
I am sorry to hear that Firefox for iOS is crashing. I hope that we can help resolve this for you. Before following the steps below, please make sure that you have updated both your iOS device and Firefox for iOS to the latest versions available.
As a first step, close down many of the tabs that you have open to as few as possible. Does this help reduce the incidence of a crash?
If this does not resolve the issue, open the iOS Settings app, select General then iPhone Storage. Find Firefox and select Offload App. Does this help?
Failing that, we will need to look into this in more detail with some logs from inside your copy of Firefox for iOS. This article will walk you through getting both crash logs and Firefox logs. When you have them, please file them here (a GitHub account is required) so that our developers can look into this further for you.
I hope that this helps.

The Firefox crashes are part of another problem I think. Often happens when trying to paste something.
For the forgetting logins & cookies information - Please check this, which is about the issue: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-ios/issues/12740
Can we get an update? It’s been a while and taking very long. Lots of users have this issue!

Hi, I also have this problem of Ff on iOS unexplainably forgetting logins, often several times in a row. Sometimes I can’t even log in at all. And not just of tweakers.nl (which is quite substantial btw) but also of ad.nl (Algemeen Dagblad, one of the largest newspapers of the Netherlands) and nu.nl, another populair website.
(I did not encounter crashes.)
It has not been fixed in Firefox iOS Version 112.2, even tough the release notes said something about it. Can you guys please look into this again and hopefully bring a fix?
Hi
I recommend that you add comments and information to the GitHub ticket so that our developers can look into this further for you.
