Up until 6 months ago I was easily able to access all my bank accounts on line using Firefox. I can still access others but not Capital One 360 on line banking. When I try to access Capital One I just get the message that " there has been snag and to try again" which does not work. So I can access my Capital One account only thru Google Chrome. Capital One says that the reason is that Firefox does not update their security setting to the level they require. Can anyone tell me if this is the problem or if there is some other reason why I can no longer use Firefox to access this account.

Hi bburkhart, the word "snag" and "Firefox does not update their security setting to the level they require." doesn't give us a lot to go on, unfortunately.

As a quick test of whether this could be related to a setting or add-on, could you try:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test your problem site(s).

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like June2019, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system so we can get a clean test.

Does the bank's site work any better in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (June2019 will remain available for future testing.)

I was able to get the bank's website up on the new profile; however, I checked it at the same time on the original profile and at first it came up but then when I closed the screen for the new profile and tried it again on the old one I again got the message there was a "Snag".

Never post any personal information because an adware robot could find it, and start sending you all kinds of spam. This includes e-mail, phone, and home information.

Not sure what info I should remove & not sure how to do it from previous posts?

I think FredMcD meant your email address. There should be a link to edit any reply to the right of it when you view it on the forum.

Hmm. Could you try it again in the new profile without logging in simultaneously in a different browser? See whether you can get through your whole banking session successfully in the test profile, or whether you hit the snag there at a later point.

Many secured websites do not allow more than one access to their accounts.
