Recently signed for Amazon prime video. I stream from a mid '15 Macbook Pro to a HDTV via HDMI. Video stutters intermittently. The display output is set to 24Hz to match amazons 1080p24 stream. Amazon support says try another browser, so I doubt whether they will put any effort into fixing this problem if the stock browser works correctly. Got frustrated and tried Safari. The problem went away, rarely do I see a stutter after it's settled down. My playback on all the other video sites is A1 with FF. Youtube 4k works smoothly although with a lot of fan. It's a shame, I would like to use FF.

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. (Firefox 57 and above) Click the Library button 57 library icon and choose History.
(Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose History in older Firefox versions.)
  2. In the History menu, choose "Clear Recent History...".
  3. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  4. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  5. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  6. Now click the "Clear Now" button.

Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Thanks for the fast response.

Tried clearing all history; there was no change. Also tried with reducing content processes, no dice. And disabling hardware acceleration as well. No good. Maybe this is an Amazon streaming problem exclusively, because I've never had problems anywhere else.

Seems like it is an issue on Amazon's end, I'd contact them about it.
