You can check the home page setting here:

Note that Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can open the pages in tabs and click the "Use Current Pages" button to set multiple home pages.

If you need to recover files then see if you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop as the result of a refresh or if you use the Time Machine then check that backup. The home page is stored as the value of browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone in the prefs.js file.
