When I try to connect to Google i get a message that Firefox can't confirm that the connection is secure and that the site's identity can't be verified. Then they say that someone may be trying to impersonate the site and that I shouldn't continue. How do I fix this?

Thanks for replying but the situation has been resolved. In addition to the problem I mentioned the computer would not shut down no matter what I tried. I finally had to unplug it. When I plugged it back in and turned it on everything worked fine.

hi, in order to know what's going on we probably need more information about the issuer of the failing certificate. please proceed like this: enter chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul into the location bar, and in the page that opens, set the server location to "https://www.google.com" in order to retrieve and view the certificate. then please report back with the data of the issued by section of the certificate viewer. thank you!
