after installation, will import/restore of bookmarks require the master password of the previous version

I tried setting master password yet appeared that submit or accept was greyed and it gave no confirmation of setting it. Did not use PC for over a week (out of town for funeral) afterwards and came back to find it now required a master and had no idea what I had used the day I tried setting it. I backed up my bookmarks and now wonder if I install a new version if importing those will require the master password I don't know.

I suggest that the master password set should confirm that it was set. I had "cancelled" on that screen so assumed no password was in place. Tough lesson to learn if I have to reset and lose all passwords.

First, ALWAYS save your passwords someplace safe, just for this reason. As to the master, this only effects the Password Manager. The other managers should not be effected.
