The full winget command is: ```pwsh winget install --id Mozilla.Firefox.zh-CN -s winget -e -i -l D:/.../Mozilla/Firefox/ ```

The winget log mentioned that winget downloaded https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/150.0.2/win64/zh-CN/Firefox%20Setup%20150.0.2.exe ```log 2026-05-12 22:19:28.840 [CORE] WinINet downloading from url: https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/150.0.2/win64/zh-CN/Firefox%20Setup%20150.0.2.exe 2026-05-12 22:37:42.091 [CORE] Download hash: 6c7fb833ebb13637daf750c7a2c611e2b6d8d324dc2463eed40e8478d0c791fc 2026-05-12 22:37:42.091 [CORE] Download completed. 2026-05-12 22:37:42.094 [CLI ] Installer hash verified ```

Installer args: ```log 2026-05-12 22:37:43.543 [CLI ] Installer args: /InstallDirectoryPath="D:/.../Mozilla/Firefox/" 2026-05-12 22:37:43.545 [CLI ] Starting: 'D:\Temp\WinGet\Mozilla.Firefox.zh-CN.150.0.2\Firefox%20Setup%20150.0.2.exe' with arguments ' /InstallDirectoryPath="D:/.../Mozilla/Firefox/"' 2026-05-12 22:38:12.554 [REPO] Reading MSI UpgradeCodes 2026-05-12 22:38:12.891 [REPO] Reading MSI UpgradeCodes 2026-05-12 22:38:13.405 [CLI ] During package install, 1 changes to ARP were observed, 1 matches were found for the package, and 1 packages were in both 2026-05-12 22:38:13.405 [CLI ] The entry determined to be associated with the package is 'Mozilla Firefox (x64 zh-CN)', with publisher 'Mozilla' ```

Then winget shows the installation was successful, but the shortcuts in the Start menu and on the desktop point to a path that doesn't exist. I noticed that this path is the one I passed to winget via the -l parameter, but it is missing the slash (`/`) > D:/a/b/Mozilla/Firefox/ → D:\abMozillaFirefox\ I couldn't find the installed Firefox either in the root directory of drive D or under the originally expected path D:\...\Mozilla\Firefox.

Although I passed the -i parameter (specifying interactive installation) to winget, I didn't see the installer window. In the user registry, the installer also wrote the aforementioned incorrect path, and I cannot uninstall this installation through Windows Settings.

I wrote a script myself to search for folders or files with 'firefox' in the name (case-insensitive) on my system's C and D drives, and I only found this folder that looks related: ```pwsh > ls "C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox"

   Directory: C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

I want to know what the installer does after running the above installation, and how I can undo these changes to reinstall Firefox?

Dear Sirs! I've been trying to install FF in several ways. Using installer.exe and setup150.exe. I started these files from same disk as the system (C), Temp folder empty and unlocked for read\write, located where it should be C-user-appdata-local-temp. I started files as administrator. Each time the setup fails with system notice like on the picture attached. It says "can not find specified file"

My notebook is very old, but it runs Win 10 OK, Chrome is OK also

Installing the latest version of Firefox and Debian 13.

Following the instructions in the Mozilla Support document Install Firefox on Linux https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

Operating as Super User.

Chose the option Install Firefox .deb package for Debian-based distributions (recommended)

Steps 1, 2, and 3 worked exactly as expected with in a terminal and using bash.

Step 4 and 5, following the For Debian Trixie and Newer choice does not work. A lot of digging on the internet and found that the command beginning with cat <<eof needs to be cat the second part of this process has same issue. appling new information solved problem both statements now work. p></eof>

At this point you have a directory /etc/apt/keyrings. In this directory you have the file packages.mozilla.org.asc Step 3 returns success. You have also successfully applied steps 4 and 5. In directory /etc/apr/souces.list.d you have the file mozilla.sources.

It contains the instruction “Signed-By: /usr/share/keyrings/packages.mozilla.org.gpg”

No where in the previous stepd was the file Signed-By: packages.mozilla.org.gpg ever created.

Why is the deb package looking in /usr/share/keyrings when step 2 puts a similarly named file Signed-By: /usr/share/keyrings/packages.mozilla.org.asc in /etc/apt/keyrings

Step 6

Running apt update returns

Err:4 https://packages.mozilla.org/apt mozilla InRelease  Sub-process /usr/bin/sqv returned an error code (1), error message is: Error: Failed to parse keyr ing "/usr/share/keyrings/packages.mozilla.org.gpg"  Caused by:     0: Reading "/usr/share/keyrings/p ackages.mozilla.org.gpg": No such file or directory (os error 2)     1: No such file or directory (o s error 2) Warning: OpenPGP signature verification failed: https://packages.mozilla.org/apt mozilla InRelease: Sub-process /usr/bin/sqv returned an error code (1), error message is: Error: Failed to parse keyrin g "/usr/share/keyrings/packages.mozilla.org.gpg"  Caused by:     0: Reading "/usr/share/keyrings/pac kages.mozilla.org.gpg": No such file or directory (os error 2)     1: No such file or directory (os error 2) Error: The repository 'https://packages.mozilla.org/apt mozilla InRelease' is not signed.

I have an Amazon Fire HD (12th gen) and want to use Global Privacy Control. Firefox appeared to be the best option, and I like using Firefox.

I'm instructed to install using Google Play. Went through various error messages on Google (eg, no linked Google account). But I do have a Google account linked to my Fire, through a gmail account.

Finally, Google informed me I cannot download from Google Play to a Fire Device. (I had already allowed Silk to install unknown apps, in Settings.)

The Amazon app store doesn't have Firefox.

What can I do, ideally to install Firefox, but minimally, to use Global Privacy Control on my Fire?

Many thanks.
