I have a local folder which has 90 folders within it. These are folders brought over from Eudora (the mail system I used before Thunderbird). It would help me if I could easily move all 90 from their current "Eudora" folder to the big "main" folder that Thunderbird has. To make it clear what I'm asking, here's an example, using two folders, Danbury and Fritz.

D (folders whose names begin with D) Eudora folder, which has two folders - Danbury and Fritz F (folders whose names begin with F)

Is there any way to move the 2 folders that are currently within the "Eudora" folder so that they're "first level" folders. In other words, Danbury would be among the "D" folders and Fritz would be among the "F" folders.

The only way I know to achieve this is by manually creating the new folders, moving the items from the old folder to the new folder, and then deleting the old folder. This is cumbersome.

Tried to send a rather routine email on Outlook account. Wouldn't send. Checked settings. Outgoing server, which I set to smtp-mail.outlook.com, had "magically" changed to an outlook365 server. Switched it back. Still wouldn't send. After some investigation and some suggestions from copilot, I noticed my Surfshark VPN was on. I don't run it all the time, just when I need it to log onto blocked sites. Copilot said: Surfshark is notorious for silently blocking outbound SMTP ports — especially 587, 465, and 25. Switched outgoing port to 465 as suggested by Surfshark support and tried to send again, without Surfshark on. Still wouldn't send. Finally went to outlook.live.com to send the message. Went OK. Kinda baffled. Anyone help?

lost emails from thunderbird working thunderbird this afternoon & it jus just wiped out all my emails every one it even deleted some local folders is there any way of recovering these emails thanks for any help

I have found a complete folder with subfolders in my Trash at last three or four times now, and I did not move it there. The folders are still in Local Folders but they are empty and I have to move everything back. Why is this happening? Just in the last six months has this occurred.

Added/Created this folder " " 0 _2026 - BANKS - 5 CARS [ 2 NEW/3USED ] "

Now the folder looks like this

         0 _2026 - BANKS - 5 CARS  [ 2 NEWe96f7068

I have a dozen other folders that appear like this with the letters/numbers at the end. When I delete them they reappear next time I open Thunderbird.

Are these folders corrupt? 
How do I eliminate them ?  
How do I stop folders from reappearing?

I am running Windows 11 Pro and Thunderbird version 115.8.0. When I went into my emails this morning I tried to delete 1 junk email and my entire inbox all my emails disappeared. How do I get them back?????

Hey, i have a question

i recently installed my computer new, now i pulled over my Thunderbird profile folder, i have 2 email accounts and like 30 feeds, now when i click on a feed it shows

"feedname - 623 messages"

NO MESSAGES

aka its empty, when i restart its fixed, and i never get a blue update mark aka he does pull new messages but does not inform me

Using the Spell checker in long test the cursor gets behind the popup window of the Spell checker. I know this was _no_ problem in further vcersions. Please change it! So I have to close the window to find the caursor and restart the Spell checker

I love Thunderbird, but I have recently moved to use a Android device for most of my work, and despite that there is now Thunderbird for Android, I found that there is a feature I really need but it is not working there: moving mails across different accounts. I work daily with four different accounts and sometimes I need to move some threads from to another. I had to move to a different email reader because of that, but I would really love to come back to Thunderbird.
