Why does setting "Turn Off History" affect the SkyGo plugin Silverlight ?

When I use Firefox to view SkyGo TV I get an error message telling me there a problem saving Silverlight data - this does not happen when I turn on History (which is typically set to Turn Off History)?

Maybe the website needs cookies to be enabled to work. If you turn off history, I think that disables cookies. What steps are you using to turn off history?

Note that disabling cookies also disables local storage and that is more likely in this case.
