Say i wanna navigate to hotmail.com using inline autocomplete in the urlbar [assuming it is not the first time i am visiting the website]

Google Chrome: I type 'h' in the urlbar and the rest is filled up by the browser and i simply have to press enter to navigate to 'www.hotmail.com'.

Firefox [assume, 'browser.urlbar.autoFill' is enabled]: I type 'www.ho' and the rest is filled up by the browser and then i press enter to navigate to 'www.hotmail.com'.

Please tell me if it is possible to make the autocomplete feature work like in Google Chrome? If yes, what should i do to avail the auto-complete feature in firefox without having to type the prefix 'www' to navigate to any website. Also let me know if i can avail off this fetautres by installing any of the firefox addons.

I have truly hated this problem for a long time and it has made it hard to ever get back into Firefox if I spend any amount of time using Chrome's address bar. I keep end up search google for random beginnings of address names instead of going to the website like I would with Chrome. I'd love to see the autoFill option fixed to not NEED the www. or maybe an extension that could fix this?

Install this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/ro/firefox/addon/mozilla-labs-prospector-speak-/ I'm very satisfied. I have inline autocomplete just like google chrome with this one !

I haven't restarted my browser, but just installed a FF extension called "Enter Selects" (linked below) that I think will do the trick of selecting the first auto-complete result, when typing into the location/awesome bar. This is HUGE for me, as productivity goes up if i don't have to always hit the down button just to select the first result.

The link that adrian.dulu posted has changed. It's now: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/prospector-speak-words/

...and it works perfectly. Thanks!
