Hi Bryan, what happens when you try to log in using Firefox? Is there a specific error message you could copy/paste into a reply to this thread on the support forum? Please do not include any personal information in your post. Thanks.

I open my Login Page for my insurance in Firefox. It tells me to click on the sign-in link to log in. When I do this it brings me to another insurance website page that says enter my username. When I do this, the following error pops up. "The Username or email that you entered is incorrect." When I do the exact same thing in Edge, it next asks my password then logs me in.

I called the insurance company IT dept. She said I should use Firefox, Chrome or Edge. I told her I was using Firefox and it wasn't working. I told her I also have Edge. She said to try it and I logged in with no problem. Her solution was "just use Edge". I don't like using Edge. I feel safer with Firefox.

Hi Bryan, one possible issue is Firefox's "Total Cookie Protection" feature. You mentioned a redirection. If the host name (the part between https:// and the next /) is different between the two servers, Firefox blocking cross-site cookies could break the connection.

As a test, and since this is a trusted website, try turning off Tracking Protection on both pages, the one where you start and the one you are redirected to. Here's how:

  • At the left end of the address bar, click the shield icon that usually has a checkmark in it.
  • On the panel that drops down, click the slider switch to turn off tracking protection
  • The page will reload with an x showing in the shield

Now, please try again.

I would have bet money that was going to work. It didn't.

I'm puzzled. The only other case I can recall of a false claim of a username typo was with an anti-keylogger program that was scrambling the letters in the background. But that was many years ago and presumably they fixed it by now.

Thanks for your help. One thing I've learned over the years; leave things alone long enough and they eventually work themselves out.
