when starting thunderbird I get "An error occurred during a connection to live.thunderbird.net. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR"

Never mind. It was a problem with Kaspersky Internet Security AV, updating to the newer Kaspersky Standard solved this and other problems with Firefox
