deleted profile.ini

vpelayo

I recently accidently deleted my profile in profile manager. Have spent hours going through the links and advice ie: installing new version, after copying files to another dir, copying files from old to new modififying new profile.ini to point to old,but did not work. used profile mgr to try to point to old profile, did not work. Can somebody please help?

I recently accidently deleted my profile in profile manager.

What exactly did you delete?

I don't know exactly what was deleted, I know that there is no longer a profile.ini. file

Then what is your problem in the first place?

As I said I followed all the procedures for bringing the old profile, through different ways:profile manager, copying all the folders from old thunderbird over new, modify new profile.ini. nothing seems to work.

I can view all the files and folders in Bitrecover thunderbird viewer but I cannot get folders and files in thunderbird

I know that there is no longer a profile.ini. file

Where are you looking for for profiles.ini? Please provide the exact full path starting with C:\.

I can view all the files and folders in Bitrecover thunderbird viewer but

I have no idea what 'Bitrecover thunderbird viewer' is, what is does, and what files and folders you're looking at.

I cannot get folders and files in thunderbird

I'd assume you're talking about folders you created with email messages in it? If so, please confirm.

What does 'I cannot get folders and files' mean? You don't see them in Thunderbird?

Is there any error message when you start Thunderbird?
