Thunderbird is mangling email adresses from my address book.

Email addresses look fine in my address book, but when I try to send an email the addresses get all mangled. For example DamPuppy@aol.com comes out as <damcindy davidson &lt;dampuppy@aol.com&gt;puppy@aol.com&gt;, and i get an error message if try to send the email. have manually edit address in every single email sent. am running version 45.0 on windows 7 home, < p></damcindy>

are you using drag and drop of addresses?

What happens if you use the standard diagnostic of starting Thunderbird in safe mode?
