Things like, "set firefox as your default browser" and "open firefox when you start your computer?".

I don't want pop-ups from ANYBODY, but especially not from the browser. It defeats the whole purpose of blocking pop-ups if the browser itself is interrupting me with garbage I dont need.

How do I turn these off? There don't appear to be any settings, and every google search brings up disabling pop-ups for every other site.

I'm realizing now that there is apparently no way to contact firefox support directly? I need to just wait for someone else to answer my question? That's incredibly disappointing.

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or developers.

This support article should help with managing web push notifications:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/push-notifications-firefox

Thank you for volunteering your time unpaid for a multi-million dollar corporation, however, the article you shared does not answer my question.

That article is on disabling push notifications from websites. I want to disable push notifications from the browser itself.

I do not want or need firefox to ask me if I want to make it my default browser.

The in-product messages should just appear once and can be easily closed - they are designed to help people who are new to Firefox but can be easily disregarded if you do not want to see them.

jeporavorãve

ok, and how do I stop that from happening?

jeporavorãve

There should be an X at one end of the notification for you to close the notification and not see it any more.

jeporavorãve

until tomorrow when a new one pops up. Then another one the day after that. Then another one, and another one.

I'm not sure if my question is being misunderstood here, but brushing it under the rug is not the solution I'm looking for.

jeporavorãve

Are you seeing the same notification reappearing after you have closed it?

jeporavorãve

I have not been keeping a record of the pop-ups I see, but I've been using this browser on this device daily for over a month and it seems like every day I need to dismiss something I've already taken care of.

There are literally no settings regarding this in the browser.

Thanks, atgilman86. This fixed it for me as well.
